A new order

I've had an idea for a new blog. Or rather, an idea for a blog - this one never had an idea in the first place. A personal vanity project of little consequence.

Watch this space.

GARY HOLT!!!

I am tired

Of the same poses every post, the same things every day, the too-thin, too-kooky, too-alternative blahness of the fashion blogs I've been reading.

That was one of the reasons I thought I'd do my own, but then I realised that I don't care enough to think about it as often as I thought I did.

I'm not trying to be mean - Bleach Black is the first feed I check every day - these are some good blogs with some amazing writers, photos and ideas...I'm just saying I'm bored with the same-ness of everything. To feel that a Juicy Couture track suit would be refreshing is...well, saying something, anyways.

If someone really wants to be different can we please have less of the 90's grunge, biker, smackhead looks and everyone just say no to creepers (which have always been ugly shoes), any more ripped garments and well...all of the above.

Here's hoping.

Grey

That coat is genius. Dentist-meets-ringmaster-meets-tailcoat. Add the leather gloves for some evil effect.

Perhaps some shades of grey could be added to my wardrobe. And then I'll tie my hair up like that and stand next to a black wall.

Aspirations

I want to be that woman! And I want that man to be my friend.

No life 'til leatherman

video

I write songs and I have 3 fans. This song isn't all mine, but it is the beginning of my quest for more fans.

This is the Lady Amalthea

I made this necklace out of other necklaces. The 'Love' pendant and the unicorn were both from Joy (who have a 3 for 2 on jewellery) and the fleur de lis (which came on the silver chain) was from Ebay. The smaller black chain came with the unicorn.

Jon says it looks like the Lloyds Bank horse. I think Cancara would be pretty happy reincarnated as a unicorn.

Spin some tall tales

Just when you thought the world couldn't get any geekier.

Cool! Anyone got a d10?

I'm gonna wrap myself in your intestines

It's taking the fashion world by storm! They've disguised the gore element with a little powder blue, but we can all see what they were thinking.
Zombie chic reigns!
I realise that zombies have become a bit of a theme of late. I don't care, I like zombies. Plus my posts lack a recurring theme so there you have it. Long live thrash and death!

Beware of black ice!

Snow day!

The weather forecast said there would be snow last week, but I don't think anyone thought it would snow quite this much.

Even when I still lived at home I don't remember seeing this much snow in years - and I don't remember it ever being like this in the city.

I didn't quite make it to work. I got to the station and all the sign said was "Customers are advised not to travel as some lines have already been closed due to adverse weather conditions". Great! If I could have made it across the river, I would have been fine, but the overground is pretty much broken at the moment. I called work and most areas are going to be closed - the buses aren't running, the tubes are messed up, the airports are closed...and it's just started to snow again.

I think we all know that some cities in the world have snow all through the winter, but no-one in the south of England is really prepared for it. It snows maybe once a year here and even then it's ususally a brief settle of white which sludges down in an hour or so. If we spent time and money preparing for heavy snowfall - most of those resources would get wasted, because there's no need for it.

Still, good luck to those people who are having a hard time because of it and stay safe anyone who has to go out: beware of black ice!
